This is for the jihva for love event.

This will be my first post in the blog world if I could finish it up by tonight. Since the deadline for jihva for love is today.

This recipe is a tribute to my grandmother who died about 12 yrs ago. She used to make it most of the time when she visited us from village. I still remember the taste and look of that yummy snack called Aku pakodi.( Aku is a teluguword for leaf) and when she is with us she used to make yummy food that I will rememeber forever. As my mother used to work when we are small, she really took care of us when she is with us. She is the loving person in my life and I really cherish her memories.

The recipe is as follows

1 cup of rice flour
1 tsp re chili powder
1 to 2 tsp salt or to taste
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp sesame seeds
pinch of turmeric
1 tsp oil
peanut oil for frying

mix all the above ingredients with warm water and put it aside.

take oil in a pan and heat the oil. take the murukku mould with( akupakodi mould) and put the dough in side and
press the aku pakodi into the hot oil and fry it well until golden yellow or brown depending on the taste take out from oil and put it in a bowl and enjoy. My grand mother used to make them thinner than the ones I made. Mine came liitle wider since my mould is wider.

The only reason I started my blog is to participate for Mahanandi Indira's Mango Mantram event. Thankyou Indira for giving me an opportunity to start my own blog, since I like this idea of blogging to express my ideas or my routine . Well I do not have a good writing skills but that should not stop me from being a part of blogging community. I am a beginner in painting with watercolors, I will use this event to practice my painting skills and I cannot wait to see my own painting published in famous mahanandi website. I hope I will be able to finish the painting before the deadline.
